Alumni Newsletter #5
Hello, Melon friends!
We hope we find you well.
Before we go ahead with updates, we’d like to invite you to Melon’s Christmas Party, the first one after two years of a pandemic break.
Join us on December 20, at 20:00, at Kitchen 59’s amazing rooftop bar! We’ll be delighted to see you!
What's New?
Here’s what’s up on the Melon front since our last update in July.

7 months after the acquisition was finalized, Melon & Frakton’s integration to Kin + Carta is going well and pretty dynamic. We already have several teams working on quite a few Kin + Carta projects, and more will be joining them in the upcoming months.
Visits and exchanges have also started, and it has been thrilling to meet so many new people from Kin + Carta along the way. And while it has been challenging at times, as every integration is, all sides are learning tons from the process.

We’re in the top 1% of the B2B Global Service Provides, as Ranked by Clutch
For another year in a row, we are proud and happy to be in Clutch’s exclusive list of the top 1000 global service providers. Clutch is a leading marketplace based in Washington, DC. They analyzed each company on their platform based on the ability to deliver within the service line, comprised of four key criteria: verified reviews, portfolio of work, experience and brand awareness.
Our clients gave us the stellar rating of 4.9 out of 5! We owe this acknowledgement to our teams’ competence and dedication and to our clients' overwhelming trust and confidence in Melon.

DevCon’s First Ever Edition in Prishtina
As many of you know, we started a web and mobile developer' community conference in Skopje back in 2019. After a 2-year pause, we’re back in the game with one successful edition in Skopje earlier this year, and another one in Prishtina, Kosovo that took place in October. With 6 speakers and more than 150 people attending, we can happily say that the first edition of DevCon | Prishtina was a success, which you can see for yourself in this recap video here.
We have even bigger plans for the next year, so if you’d like to be up to date, follow DevCon on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Giving Back to the Community – Melon’s CSR in 2022
We’ve always been attentive for our corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. To us, it is important to give back and support the local communities. Three years after we designed and started unfolding our CSR program, every team-member had the chance to vote again which areas and beneficiaries’ groups should we donate to in 2022.
And the Melon kin has spoken – education, social support, aid to women and kids who have been victims of domestic violence, and protection of the environment. In North Macedonia the selected organization is Lulka. They improve parents’ skills for wholesome care for their premature babies. In Bulgaria, we’ll donate to 4 organizations that have been proven to be trustworthy, reputable and achieving social impact. Our CSR manager shortlisted a bunch of eligible non-governmental organizations, and again everyone in Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia is invited to choose one organization in each area.

Restart of Live Social Events
After 2 years of remote work, we really missed being together in one place. Since this summer, we restarted the Social Thursdays each month with activities ranging from gelato tasting and games, to thematic parties and culinary delights. We introduced the Melon’s Birthday Celebrations, where at the end of each month, we salute all the birthday people with cakes, drinks and gifts. Also, we closed the summer season with an uplifting End of Summer Party. We were happy to see so many of you!

Knowledge-Sharing at Industry Events
Last, but not least – 2022 was the year when live business events returned and we took part in quite a few. Blazhe Petrov delivered a well-received keynote at Beer JS Skopje, while Miro Georgiev hosted an online event at DEV.BG on the importance of logging.
On the non-technical front, our Veliko Tarnovo team took part in several different regional initiatives, including workshops with students, events on digitalization, and a conference exploring the Old Capital’s potential to turn into a successful regional tech hub .
