Hello, Melon friends!

We hope we find you well and in good spirits amidst the summer season!

Quite a few things happened on our end since our last message to you, so we come around with a quick update from the Melon front.

What's New?

Kin + Carta Completes Acquisition of Melon and Frakton
We’re happy to share that both Melon and Frakton recently became part of the British public company Kin + Carta. As a global digital transformation consultancy, Kin + Carta brings the connective power of technology, data, and experience to the world’s most influential companies, helping them to accelerate their digital roadmap, rapidly innovate, modernise their systems, enable their teams, and optimise for continued growth.

Now including our fast-growing software engineering business with a 300-strong team in Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo, Kin + Carta’s 2000+ strategists, engineers, and creatives will work alongside our clients to build a world that works better #ForEveryone

Yet another Clutch award!
In May, we were again recognized by Clutch in one of their most prestigious categories – Bulgaria’s Top-Tier Service Providers for 2022! We landed on the 7th place from 160 highlighted companies in total.

The criteria for evaluating the businesses on the list is based on their services offered, clients’ referrals, case studies, other awards received, and social media presence. We’re delighted to be listed that far ahead in Clutch’s independent, data-based ranking!

Support for Ukraine
We were deeply devastated by the war in Ukraine. And although we can’t do much in the grand scale of the events unfolding there, we couldn’t have stayed uninvolved. So, we went on and donated to “Urgent fund for women and children affected by the war”, initiated by the Bulgarian Fund for Women. Also, we put together a vetted resource page for those wondering how to contribute in the first few chaotic weeks of the war. We also opened the positions in our production teams to Ukrainian refugees that are located anywhere in Bulgaria. We’ll continue to show our support and contribute to those affected to the best of our abilities.

First team building since 2019
After a 2-year pause forced by the pandemic, it was high time to bring back the annual teambuilding for all offices. Close to 200 people from Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Skopje and Pristina joined the 3-day bash in Strumica, North Macedonia. This was the first big company gathering since Frakton joined our family, and after both Melon and Frakton became part of Kin + Carta. We’ve had much to celebrate, lots of things to catch up with, and many new faces to meet. Needles to say, we’ve had a blast!

DevCon | Skopje 2022
Along with the annual teambuilding, we managed to revive yet another Melon event – DevCon | Skopje, a one-day conference for web and mobile development. After it’s first edition in 2019, DevCon | Skopje was put on hold - again, due to the pandemic. Thankfully, in May 2022, we brought the event back live - with close to 300 registered professionals and 6 speakers from Melon, Frakton, Kin + Carta and CodeChem. You can check the speaker’s talks and the short highlights video. Plans are now in motion to also bring DevCon to Pristina in October 2022.

An eventful spring!
With events back live, we must say we had quite an eventful spring! We supported the Challenge Days in Sofia, as we care about all things that promote sustainability and preserve the environment. We also supported Ratio Forum, as we appreciate events that endorse science. We also took part in FMI’s Career Forum, where we met with the future tech talent in Bulgaria. Lately, we supported the ITTour with their TarnovoConf event, a tech conference that aims to bring together local companies and engineers from the region. There’ll be more to come, so If you spot us at some of your favorite events later this year, stop by and say hi!

Referral Program

Our Referral program remains valid for you – our alumni. History has shown that the candidates we receive via referrals are more successful and more likely to remain as long-term employees, compared to any other channel.
